The artist is known for his mastery of action, his paintings resemble scenes on stage. Against a backdrop of landscape or buildings, action is made clear by  balancing of movements and handling of lights that is carefully planned as a theatrical performance. We see clearly a new approach which is very much original and spontaneous.His characters are expressive and dramatic.

He is called as Master Moshai, the most respected, influential and one of the father figure of 20th century Indian art. Who had a mission to re-establish the cultural and traditional values of Indian people, who wanted to bring back the identity of Indian art.
