                            Nand lal Bose

My motive of showcasing this poster is to highlight a character whose contribution in Indian art is enormous. He is called as Master Moshai, the most respected, influential and one of the father figure of 20th century Indian art. Who had a mission to re-establish the cultural and traditional values of Indian people, who wanted to bring back the identity of Indian art. Nand lal Bose along with his teacher Abanindra nath Tagore and many other artists started a movement which is called as renaissance of Indian art . He was a great teacher who produced great artists ....like Ram kinkar Baij , K. G Subramanim and many others who are notable in Indian art practice.

He was a master of portraying people of his time, has a great sense of design and was a great illustrator. His paintings are very much appreciated because of it's  harmony, balance, grace, use of lines and colours  in plethora of themes .He was very dear to the great Indian poet Rabindra Nath Tagore and one of the the Pioneer of establishing Kala Bhavan in santiniketon.  Tiller of soil is one of his 81posters made in 1937 In Haripura Congress assembly where he had showcased Indian people, their traditional and cultural believes. He was a follower of  Gandhi jee and had contributed for indian freedom movement directly. He was a silent worker who made characters, who is an example of a pure soul, great son of mother India.
