The great inquirer John Constable .

This is to share a quote by the great artist John Constable, which made a great impact in the world of art. " Remember light and shadow never stand still "      By- Jhon Constable Artists paints what they believe,  Express what they understand . Constable's paintings are reflection of what he had believed. To me his paintings are like video's of his time where everything moves. He was a true inquirer and his Paintings are work of science, he had pursued it  as an Inquiry into the laws of nature.

Modern landscape by Hubert Van Eyck

It is may be surprising to you all to agree with this statement that the first  modern landscape was made by Hubert Van Eyck in 15th century. The first modern landscapes were exceedingly small in size only about 2/3 inches , painted between 1414-1447 in a manuscript known as the Hours Of Turin. Historically they were amongst the most surprising works of art in the world. One of the surviving work of this great painter is in the Trivulzio library and shows how he had achieved by color a sense of the saturation of light, the tone of the landscapes has a subtlety hardly observed again until the 19th century. The reflection of the evening sky in the water is exactly the kind of effect which we have been  experiencing from last two centuries ,  popularly known as  modern impressionistic landscapes.

I see a clear connection of Indian classical art in his works.  From his biographer's note we got to know that he had a profound knowledge of Indian mythology and literature. He had studied "chittrasutra", "chitralakshana"and "natya Sashtraya" which made a strong impact on his paintings. His father was a Sanskrit scholar and in his childhood memories traditional cultural events ( Drama, musical events) were deeply engraved which has reflected in the mature phase of  his works. With this approach he was able to reach to the  people of India. the selection of the subjects of his painti

Inspired by Frida Kahlo's quote.

"I paint because I need to, and I paint whatever passes through my head without any other consideration" a quote by Frida Kahlo Frida kahlo, a 20th century Mexican artist ,who is remembered for her self portrait, pain, passion and bold vibrant colors . To me... The best part of this quote is.. I paint because I need to... Artist should be busy in portraying his or her thoughts every day.
